HOTEL OCCUPANCY ON THE RISE WITH WEB SUMMIT RIO 2024

Next week will be full hotels in Rio de Janeiro. The good numbers are the result of the Web Summit Rio 2024: according to research by HotéisRIO, released this Friday, the 12th, the average hotel occupancy rate in the city is 72.36% during the event period, from the 15th to the 18th of April. This performance is slightly above the average recorded due to the event in 2023, which was 72.25%.

This is the second edition of Web Summit Rio, one of the main international events in the startup and innovation ecosystem. As it will be held in Riocentro, the greatest demand was for hotels located in the Barra/Recreio region, with 86,78%. Next are Ipanema/Leblon (75.81%), Flamengo/Botafogo (69.80%), Copacabana/Leme (67.03%) and Centro (55.79%).

The president of HotéisRIO, Alfredo Lopes, highlights the beneficial effect that a structured events calendar has on the entire tourism chain. “A structured schedule of congresses, business meetings, shows and sporting events brings resources and provides predictability for investments. There is no better place to discuss advances in technology than our city, which has the most modern hotel chain in Brazil, great cuisine and rich cultural life”, he highlights.
