During the event, Cláudio Castro highlighted the variety of experiences that Rio offers visitors. One of the largest in Latin America, the fair will have a Setur-RJ themed stand
Tourism from the State of Rio de Janeiro is in Gramado to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Gramado International Tourism Fair, Festuris, one of the largest in Latin America. The governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro, and the Secretary of State for Tourism, Gustavo Tutuca participated, on Thursday night (9/11), in the opening ceremony that took place at the Palácio dos Festivals, in the city of Rio Grande do Sul. At the end of the ceremony, the governor recalled Rio de Janeiro's return to the top of the ranking as the main tourist destination during Carnival this year, according to travel search platforms, and the government's efforts in this direction.
– After years, Rio is once again the most sought after state by tourists. This is something that generates development, economic improvements and social justice. When we look at how tourism impacts the entire economic chain, we see how important it is. Because of this, we returned to all national and international fairs, such as the one in Gramado. Tourism is much more than just going to a place. It is, above all, an experience. And Rio, which already has a natural vocation for beaches and natural beauty, also offers several other experiences. Today, visitors to the State can enjoy green tourism, technology-oriented tourism, sports tourism… all of which are extremely important for this recovery – emphasized Castro.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, the president of Embratur, Marcelo Freixo, and several authorities, as well as representatives of the tourist trade in Brazil and Rio de Janeiro. Considered one of the largest tourism business fairs in Latin America, expected to generate R$ 400 million in this edition, Festuris takes place until next Saturday (11/12), in three megapavilions at the Serra Park Fair Center.
Through the State Secretariat of Tourism of Rio de Janeiro (Setur-RJ) and TurisRio, the State Government will participate in the exhibition with a 66 square meter Instagrammable stand. The space promotes destinations in Rio de Janeiro through an immersive experience that uses images and photos with some of the most popular tourist attractions, such as beaches, mountains, nature, ecotourism, major events, among others. The place is also used to promote business and communicate with agents and tourism operators.
Mumuzinho Show
Still on the night of the 9th, Setur-RJ brought one of the most anticipated opening events: the show by singer Mumuzinho, part of the “O Rio Continua Lindo” project. It's near!". The show brought together around 700 people, at Sociedade Recreio Gramadense, in the center of Gramado.
 – Festuris is a renowned fair with 35 years of history in the sector. Being here, presenting the tourist regions of the state of Rio de Janeiro, is a great opportunity to showcase the tourist offer of Rio de Janeiro's destinations. The themed show “Rio Continues Beautiful. It's near!" brought songs performed by our state tourism ambassador Mumuzinho, providing a special moment of Rio de Janeiro for fair participants – said the Secretary of State for Tourism, Gustavo Tutuca.
