Madonna in Rio: Galeão will have extra flights to serve the singer's fans

After confirming the Madonna concert in Rio, Galeão International Airport will have extra flights to serve the singer's fans.

Azul airline announced extra flights and discounts for customers traveling to Rio de Janeiro to watch the Queen of Pop's show.

The promotions start this Monday (25th) and run until Friday (29th).

Madonna will perform at Copacabana Beach, on May 4th, in a free show that closes the Celebration Tour. The projection is that around a million people will attend the show.

How will the extra flights work?

Azul announced the creation of a temporary hub at Galeão airport, in Rio de Janeiro. In total, they will be 436 flights operating at Galeão in the first week of May, totaling more than 60,300 seats.

The pop diva's arrival in Rio affected the economy so much that the peak days will be May 3, 4 and 5 – together, totaling more than 58% of Azul's takeoffs in the first week of the month, according to the company.

The company will also offer temporary direct flights to Galeão from 23 cities.

Customers of any Itaú credit card will receive a promocode which will grant a 25% discount on the fare value available at the time of purchase on the Azul app. Customers with a Azul Itaú card will receive an additional 5% discount, totaling 30% on the available amount.
