Sheraton Grand Rio celebrates 50 years of hospitality in 2024

With access to the beach, gym, pool and SPA available to guests, you can't miss the chance to stay at the Hotel Sheraton Rio de Janeiro! Check out!

The invitation is irresistible for any tourist: to stay at a resort in the heart of the urban area of Rio de Janeiro and, by the way, the only hotel right on the sand in the city. And more: not in just any hotel, but in a Rio icon, with impressive views of the beaches of Leblon and Ipanema. The Sheraton Grand Rio Hotel & Resort, at the tip of Leblon, is all of this and turns 50 this year. Exactly on September 27th.

The Sheraton's anniversary celebrations began in February and will continue throughout the year. In total, says Karen Ortiz, the hotel's Director of Sales and Marketing, there will be four unmissable promotions for those who want to enjoy all the comfort and personalized services at an affordable price. Interested parties should only remain alert, as flash promotions will be launched on surprise dates and for a limited period. The next one should be released between March and April.

The Sheraton Grand Rio Hotel & Resort and the privileged view of the beaches of Leblon and Ipanema

Located on the most coveted strip of sand in the city, the hotel on Avenida Niemeyer can be seen from the beaches of Leblon and Ipanema, with the Vidigal favela in the background. Opened in the early 1970s, the building continues to display its lines that mix classic and modern, without ever abandoning that atmosphere of elegance and sophistication. Half a century of excellence in hospitality has transformed the hotel into a reference in Rio.

All 538 elegantly decorated apartments, including 61 suites, have a balcony and sea views. Of the four restaurants, two are listed among the best in Rio de Janeiro in their specialty: the French L'Etoile, with a menu created by chef Jean-Paul Bondoux, and the Italian Bene, with a fusion of Italian and Brazilian flavors. Completing this unique gastronomic experience are the O Casarão steakhouse and the Casa da Cachaça pool restaurant.

The Sheraton pool: have drinks and relax with postcard views of Rio

Most of the time the hotel appears in travel magazines or accommodation platforms, the heated pool emerges as a scenic attraction. The leisure area also has another swimming pool, jacuzzi, three tennis courts, spa, fitness center and kids area under the supervision of entertainers. Recently, the hotel opened a clay court. “We are the only hotel in the city with direct access to the beach, offering a differentiated service on the sands of Rio”, highlights Ortiz.

The Sheraton's last renovation took place in 2016 and cost US$ 55 million. This gave it an extra word in its name: Grand. It is as if the hotel has been elevated to a new standard that recognizes Sheraton hotels as exceptional for their seductive destinations, remarkable design and service excellence. To give you an idea, the only other hotel in this category in Latin America is the Sheraton Grand Panamá.

All rooms have a balcony and sea views

A guest's stay can be more special if they are part of the Sheraton Club or the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty plan. The latter offers benefits such as exclusive check-in, free Internet in the room, breakfast and access to the Club Lounge, located on the 26th floor. For transportation, the hotel also offers a van with prior appointment to take guests to the beaches of Leblon and Ipanema and to shopping malls in the region.
