Commercial Forum presents forecasts and attractions for tourism

The Rio Othon Palace hotel hosted the HotéisRIO Commercial Forum, led this Friday, the 24th, by vice-president José Domingo Bouzon. He opened the work by saying that November is a very positive month for the hotel industry in Rio de Janeiro and that the results that have been felt in the occupation are the result of a continued effort made by both the State Government and the City of Rio in promoting the main destinations. “The hotel industry could not fail to recognize this work.”

Afterwards, four important guests enriched the agenda: Luiza Cairo, area manager at Expedia Group, brought travel trends for the year 2024 and shared positive expectations for New Year's Eve. She also recalled that, on December 7th, ticket sales for Rock In Rio begin, a window that favors the purchase of packages lasting up to five days.

Rafael Louro, traffic development manager at RIOgaleão, spoke about the airport's new moment, which has the capacity to serve up to 37 million passengers, and in 2024 the expectation is to receive 15 million travelers, which shows that there is still a lot potential to be worked on. He spoke of improvements in the experience of Galeão users through increased transport, including the resumption of executive buses coming from the Center, Zona Sul and Barra. Regarding this season, the forecasts are of great movement: “Rio de Janeiro has already resumed 100% of its international network compared to the pre-pandemic period in terms of flights and seats. In the domestic market, Galeão gained, between October 2023 and January 2024, 24 new national routes”.

Two major tourist attractions in Rio presented their programs. The president of Cidade das Artes, Daniela Santa Cruz presented the calendar of events at the space, which is the largest cultural facility in Latin America and the most important complex in the country. The program includes exhibitions, great musical shows, gastronomy, guided tours and picnics in the gardens. “We want to strengthen this partnership with tourism and hoteliers know better than anyone what we can offer that is most attractive to tourists”, he invited.

Patrícia Mattos, commercial supervisor at Ecobalsas, presented the possibilities of this equipment that has been operating in the water transport and entertainment market for 15 years with the aim of expanding the guest and resident's experience close to nature, with the possibility of sports and ecological tours. “There are more than 10 daily routes, including access to the Metro and the main shopping malls in the region, making it an important tourist attraction in Barra da Tijuca.”
