Hotéis ForumRIO launches courses in partnership with Hoteliers School

This Thursday, March 14th, HotéisRIO held the first meeting of its HR and DP Managers Forum in 2024, in which the partnership was launched with the School of Hoteliers with courses by HotéisRIO, which will offer training to work in the segment , from operational positions to leadership roles. The agenda of the meeting, held at the Belmond Copacabana Palace, also addressed the organization of a salary and benefits survey in the sector, which will be conducted by the entity.

The Hoteliers School by HotéisRIO courses aim to provide professional training for the segment. Training covers operational (base teams), tactical (middle leadership) and strategic (managerial) positions. The classes, scheduled to start in April, will have three formats – in-person, in-company and live online. According to Daniela Falcão, one of the school's teachers, working hours will vary from 8 to 16 hours. “Our teaching staff is made up of experienced and active professionals, which means that the classes have very practical content, true immersion. Some, such as chambermaids and waiters, have a technical part, others include exercises and case studies. The idea is for the candidate to take the courses and enter the market”, he stated.

The second item on the agenda was the Remuneration Survey (Salaries and Benefits), which will map the market. The survey will be carried out by VLEAL Gestão with a forecast of up to 100 positions in the sector, to assist the board. The director of VLEAL, Valéria Leal, discussed the stages of the work, from collecting and organizing data to tabulating information. “The results of the salary survey will be made available on a web platform exclusively created for this purpose. Information about benefits will be presented in a PDF report. Everything will be done in accordance with the LGPD (General Data Protection Law), preserving the identification of hotels and the confidentiality of data”. Leal explained that there will be up to three surveys per year – the first should have its data released by the end of April. “Everything will depend on the participation of hotels.”

The Fairmont Copacabana Hotel team presented its experience in implementing the 5×2 work schedule in some areas of the hotel. The objective was to improve the well-being of employees, reduce turnover, increase productivity and improve the quality of service provided to the end consumer. According to Cristina Portela, Recruitment and Selection manager, the experience is about to complete one year and the results were very favorable, with an improvement in the climate survey and a reduction in job turnover and unjustified absences. “Employees gain more time for their personal life, to take care of their home and children. The initiative also became a good argument for recruitment.”
