Azul announces daily flights between Rio de Janeiro and Campina Grande

The June festivities are approaching and, once again, the city of Campina Grande appears as one of the main destinations to enjoy the season. Therefore, Azul announced that, between June 1st and July 31st, the operation between the airports of Galeão, in Rio de Janeiro, and Presidente João Suassuna, in Campina Grande, will be daily.

Since last year, Azul has been the only airline to operate direct flights on this route, twice a week. The decision to invest in the stretch came from the company's observation that there is a high number of Customers who travel frequently between the two places. The operation will be carried out on Airbus A320Neo model aircraft, with capacity for 174 Customers.

“We have always been committed to a regional integration project, increasing direct connections between cities with tourist and business potential and large centers. We are happy that this look at the route between Campina Grande and Rio de Janeiro is proving to be a success. In addition to the June festivities, we maintained daily operations for the month of July, when Customers will be able to enjoy cultural, adventure and gastronomic tourism in the region, which also includes the neighboring cities of Cabaceiras, Areia, Bananeiras and Araruna”, said Beatriz Barbi, Mesh Planning Manager at Azul.

The forecast is that, compared to last year, Azul will take even more Customers to these parties, thanks to the increase of 70% in the number of seats available, compared to last year. Only extra operations for the period will be daily flights, departing from Galeão Airport, in Rio de Janeiro, and from BH Airport, in Minas Gerais, to Campina Grande.

There will also be new routes from Aracaju (SE) and Petrolina (PE) to Campina Grande, 2 weekly flights between these cities. Aracaju will have flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and Petrolina will have flights on Mondays and Fridays. From Recife International Airport, Customers will also have two daily flights to Caruaru Airport, operated by ATR aircraft, with capacity for up to 70 Customers. In other words, in addition to the change in frequency – from one to two flights per day – there will be an increase in the number of seats per flight (from 9 to 70).
